Colourful Space by tadp0l3 Colourful Space by tadp0l3
This was supposed to be an entry for #TheOuterSpaces art pack "Distant Light", but haven't heard anything new about it, and the deadline was some time ago. If if gets released I hope my piece will be included.

This started out as gas-giant practice, still dunno what I think of the result, I'll let you be my judges! :)

1600x1200 resolution download, no larger resolutions available, sorry.

Entry for *Flylends contest.
Also a celebration for my 10.000 page views ;-)

How'd you do the nebula background? It looks like it's straight from one of those NASA photos.

Thanks, I went for a realistic false-color look in this one. Atleast for the nebula :)

It's a combination of fractals and brushing and some cloud stock (though those clouds are probably so modified and erased out that there's barely anything left). And a lot of color modification :)

Looks pretty realistic, altough I never been to space
It's what I think it would look like

Good thing. I hear there's no air there. :P

Oh, you meant inside of a spacecraft of some sort. Right. LOL

beautiful image overall but space in background seems flat to me. don't know why... maybe it's because of many "big" stars of the same size

Glad you like it.

You might be right, though there's stars of a dozzen varying sizes, there's segments in the larger size spans without too much variation. I'll see if I ever bother fixing it. Thanks for pointing it out though, much appreciated :)

Nice colours, you don't often see that pinkish colour on gas giants, but its made natural looking by the use of orange and brown on the same :) The nebula in the background is great, very realistic 8-) the gas giant looks like it's painted with traditional media actually, but there's nothing wrong with some stylisation 8-)

I was afraid I was taking the colors to the extreme in this one, but I think I manage to keep most of it on the right side of "overdone", perhaps the gas giant is a bit over the top, but ah well. Just thought it fun to try out coloring a space piece to the extreme. Thx for the comment Mat! :)

Holy... You really do know how to portray the magnificent beauty of space, alright. :) The stars and the entire way that the colors flow in the painting just make me envious. I wish I could paint anywhere halfway as greatly as you did.

And, the nebulae...those are lethally beautiful. :)
