One last picture by tadp0l3 One last picture by tadp0l3
The expensive terraforming process on the previously so mineral rich moon was eventually put to an halt. The incomes had began to decrease and the company where withdrawing their funding. The fading atmosphere grew thinner and thinner and most colonizers finally left due to the increasingly harsh and inhospitable climate. Soon only the brave and the enduring remained. Though in the end, even the most fierce and relentless was forced to leave - the pay off had gotten too small.

A lone miner poses for the camera for one last picture of the only home he's ever known. In the background the last fleet are seen as they take of never to return. The lonesome miner and his photographer are the last remaining humans on the once so flourishing, but now all too barren moon. Soon they too will take of - into the unknown, into the abyss, into the dark night.

Hmmm, I've got three things.. the brightness of the planets should be brighter. Second, the area that the astronaute is landing on needs some grey-blue color and the planet seems that it hasn't atmosphere with its lightning, so in that case you should remove the thing from the sky and last thing, it's about the astronaute and he needs some edits, so he would fit there. I wished if you werent hurry because this is a good idea :)

Vue seems to have the smooth and rough contrast in landscaping down cold. One observation that might be similar to your count issue; When I do a wip and ppl fave it they very rarely fave the finished work, I dont know if they think "seen it already" or what.

As for this peice, Great job. One can tell you put a lot of time and research in this one. The haze seems a little better for example, or is it just me ?

Yeah, I'm quite satisfied with vue thus far, does seem to draw quite even with terragen on these kind of landscapes.

4 out of 5 ain't to shabby either, thanks man ;-)

Very good, the terrain fractal in Vue is a Godsend as it's perfect for creating the terrains for barren desert-like worlds like this and it's merged with the Photoshop work perfectly...too bad that guy has his back turned on the best bits

Yeah, it's not a very lush and green place, that's for sure :p

Im very happy with how the vue render turned out, the only thing that bothered me was that the timer on the render didn't match the actual render time, started out at two hours and slowly went down to zero minutes over a span of...12 hours! Guess you've got to x6 the time vue tells you for the render, heh.

For some odd reason the community doesn't seem to like this piece though, lowest watch count in a long time :/

I know, Vue seems to give unrealistic expectations with its estimated render time, I just finished a render that took over 38 hours! throughout most of that time I was being told it was only like...5  then again, it was a huge peice with lots of blurred reflections, soft shadows and multiple lights, but that was still a pretty bad render time :hmm:
