Daily deviation

Yesterday, to my great surprise, I received my very first DD on my piece Summoner. As is written in the artist comment, I was very close scraping the image all together. Now I'm happy I changed my mind and kept on working on it instead.

I've received over 1500 faves on the piece, and won't be able to thank you all, but a special thank you goes out to Atramina for suggesting it, and VSConcepts for the feature. Check out both their galleries, Atramina has some quite remarkable digital paintings and VSConcepts has a wide range of different cool looking designs.

A GRAND space tutorial

A day or two before my DD I spend countless amount of hours compiling and writing about a whole range of different space tutorials. First I published the work in my reoccurring space blog in the group Star-Trekking. Then a few days later, and due to popular demand, I expanded my work to include resources as well, and published it as a news article here on DA. The popularity of the article was way above expectation, with over 300 faves it became the most popular news article in its category and one of the most popular news articles of any category in the past month.

The immense popularity and interest together with the great feedback I received on the article has lead me into thoughts of expanding it even further. Write more in-depth and describing "GRAND space collection tutorial", code it in html and upload it as a deviation. Much of the reason as to why I'd want that is the fact that new's are only searchable for a month retroactive - as far as I've understood. It's a lot of work though, and I'll have to think about it.

If I do decide on writing up another tutorial, I'd be nice to have someone who speaks English as their native tongue to proof read it. My grammar sucks. Period. So any volunteers? Could do with a coder too, was a long time since I coded anything - I guess I could handle it though.

Subscription & Critique

In my last journal I complained about getting too few comments and critiques, and promised the readers I'd get better on that front myself. Sadly, I haven't. Only one critique performed the past 3 weeks. Much due to the reason that none of the people I watch has submitted anything they'd like a critique on though.

My sub expires in a few days, and my economical situation doesn't allow me to renew it. So this will probably be my last journal for quite some time, and the low amount of critiques written will unfortunately stay low. It was fun while it lasted though ;-)
